The Barolo Riserva 1967 by Borgogno can be numbered among what Italians call the great meditation wines, to be sipped in pleasurable awareness of its subtle treasures. The grapes that make this wine a triumph of excellence were grown in the Cannubi, Liste and San Pietro delle Viole vineyards, in the townships of Barolo and La Morra. Let yourself be entranced by this ruby red velvet hue subtly streaked with orange tints, and the ethereal but persistent fragrance whose rich tarry goudron is veined with fruity sensations. In the mouth it reveals a majestic structure, with elegant tannins and a serenely persistent finale.

Manufacturer History

Borgogno is the family name behind one of the oldest wine-making houses in Piedmont: ever since its foundation in1761, the incontestably superb quality of the company's products has justified its extraordinary reputation. One demonstration of this status is the choice of Barolo Borgogno for the grand official lunch celebrating the unification of Italy in 1861, and for the 1886 banquet in honour of Tsar Nicholas II Romanov, guest of Italy's reigning Savoy family. Today as then, its meticulously skilled traditional vinification process – now enhanced by modern equipment – endows Borgogno's wines with exceptional complexity and structure, making them an authentic expression of their territorial heritage.
