Manufacturer History
The company's story began in 1890, when Giuseppe Ferrando moved from Acqui – south of Turin – to Ivrea – north of Turin – having decided to import Piedmontese wines to the Valle d'Aosta. For five generations now, his family has devoted itself to implementing and developing his human and entrepreneurial vision. In 1957 Ferrando began to focus on the production of Carema, one of the rarest of the countless wines made from the Nebbiolo grape... "a mountain Barolo". Although Carema remains the company's flagship product, Ferrando has gradually expanded its wine range to include all the traditional wines from the Canavese area, including the renowned Erbaluce di Caluso.
