Shopping on the Eataly Online Store

Do I need to create an account to shop at the Eataly Online Store? How do I register?

You don’t need to need to create an account before to shop at the Eataly Online.
You can access the store as a guest user, from Facebook by clicking ‘Access from Facebook’ or you can create an account in a few simple steps.

- Open the Eataly Online Store site in your browser;
- click at the top right on ‘Sign in or Create an account’;
- Click on 'Create an account' in the 'New Customers' section on the left of the screen;
- enter your details;
- accept the Terms and Conditions and press Enter.

A confirmation mail will be sent to the address you specified when you set up your account. You can now start shopping at the Eataly Online Store.

Is there a minimum order amount on Eataly online Store?

No, you can shop for any order amount. Orders over 69 € will be shipped free of charge. For orders below 69 € a 6,90 € shipping fee will be applied.

How do I know if my order has been confirmed?

Once you've completed your order we'll send an order confirmation mail to your account email address.
If you don't receive the mail, check your spam folder and also your promotions folder, if you are using Gmail.
Customer Service will be happy to help if you have any further queries. To get in touch, click on 'Customer Service'.

I am unable to create an account / complete my purchase. What can I do?

If you encounter navigation difficulties or are unable to complete a purchase at the Eataly Online Store, first of all make sure your browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) is updated to the latest version.

What payment methods can I use at the Eataly Online Store?

The following payment methods are available at the Eataly Online Store:

- Credit Card
- Bank transfer
- Cash on delivery (4,50 € shipping fee)

- Eataly Prepaid Card

Which Credit Cards are accepted?

You can buy products from the Eataly Online Store using these cards: Visa, Visa Electron, Postepay, Mastercard and American Express.

Is it safe to use a credit card to pay for purchases at the Eataly Online Store?

Using a credit card to shop at the Eataly Online Store is quick and easy.

To ensure the maximum level of protection the transaction is carried out on the bank's secure server.
The Eataly Online Store does not store credit card data, but thanks to the link with the bank server you can purchase products without having to re-enter your data once you have made the first purchase. Simply select 'Registered Card' in the payment methods.

All information you supply to the bank is encrypted using the SSL protocol. Transactions made at the Eataly Online Store are Verisign certified.

How does the Cash on delivery payment option work?

With Cash on delivery payment you can purchase any product at the Eataly Online Store except for products that do not require shipping (events, courses, Online Gift Cards, Prepaid Cards, etc.).
Cash on delivery orders are accepted up to the maximum value of 455,50 euro. Each cash on delivery shipment carries a small fee of 4,50 €. The final price including the COD fee will be shown in the Order Summary. Cash on delivery payment is only available for shipments within Italy.

How does the Bank Transfer payment method work?

If you decide to shop at the Eataly Online Store and use the bank transfer payment method, remember to make the payment within 3 days of the order date. Once this period elapses, if you have not made the transfer your order will be cancelled.

Use the following data for the bank transfer:

Motive: specify the order date and number, which you can find in the confirmation email.

Note that your order will be processed only once the associated amount has been received on our current account (usually takes between 1 and 3 working days after the bank transfer).

How does online shopping work with the Eataly Prepaid Card?

Once you have the products you wish to purchase in your shopping bag, when you get to the payments section select 'Eataly Prepaid Card' as the payment method. You will be prompted to enter your card number and pin: enter this information and then confirm your order.

Shipping and Delivery

How much does shipping goods within Italy cost?

Shipping costs 6,90 € for online orders within Italy, including islands. Shipping is free on orders over 69 €.

Can I have my purchases shipped to other countries? How much will it cost?

Of course. The Eataly Online Store can ship products to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Monaco, UK, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary. Shipments cannot be made to the following countries: Switzerland, Norway, the Canary Islands, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Gibraltar, Aland Islands, Channel Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and Campione d’Italia.

Shipping costs 6,90 € for online orders within abroad.  Shipping is free on orders over 69 €.

When will I receive my order?

Once your order is confirmed, it is usually packed and handed to courier within 1 working day. Delivery within Italy takes between 2 and 3 working days. For shipments to Europe, delivery times are up to 7 working days.

Orders placed over the weekend or public and/or national holidays will be processed on the following workday. For some European countries, delivery times may increase, due to the customs operations.

As soon as your order is handed to the courier you will be sent a shipment tracking link by email and a text message will be sent to the mobile phone number you entered when placing the order.

How can I find out where my order is?

When your order is ready for shipment you will receive a shipment tracking link by email and via a text message to the mobile number you specified when placing the order. You can check the status and location of your order at any time on the courier's website.

Didn't receive the email? Check your spam folder and also your promotions folder, if you are using Gmail.

What should I do if ordered items are missing from the pack I receive or if it contains damaged products?

If you notice any products are missing from the pack at the time of receipt, or if it contains products that are different from the products ordered or if it contains damaged products, please contact Customer Service promptly by clicking on Customer Service to send a message or by calling the freephone number: 800 975880 (+39 02 09997900 from outside Italy).
If the pack is open when you receive it or sealed with adhesive tape that does not bear the Eataly logo you can accept the delivery under reserve or refuse it: please inform Customer Service of the situation as soon as possible so that we can find out what went wrong.

What should I do if the pack I receive has been tampered with or damaged?

Carefully check the pack when it is delivered: if you see signs of tampering or damage, the best course of action is to refuse to accept the delivery and then get in touch with Customer Service as soon as possible.

Returns and Refunds

Why can't I return food products or cosmetics?

To protect our Customers and for reasons of hygiene the right of cancellation is available only for products that can be resold without giving rise to potential consumer health risks. That's why we are unable to accept returns of food products and cosmetics, since we are unable to guarantee that the products have been preserved adequately.

For which products is the right of cancellation available?

The right of cancellation is applicable to all non perishable products available at the Eataly Online Store (e.g. books, gadgets, kitchen utensils, etc.).

You cannot return:

Products that may deteriorate or expire rapidly (foods, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages);
sealed products that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons (cosmetics);
products that have been opened after delivery;
products packaged to your specifications or clearly personalised products;
orders for which an invoice has been issued.

What is the cost of returning products?

Returns can be made free of charge: send the request to Customer Service within 14 days from the date of reception of the products.

Prepaid Cards

I've got an Eataly Prepaid Card, how can I use it?

You can use an Eataly Prepaid Card in stores for shopping, to dine at the restaurants, and to sign up for dinners and courses.
You can also use a Prepaid Card to purchase products (except for courses and events) on www.eataly.it. Use the Prepaid Card also for online purchases: to pay for products on the Eataly Online Store you will need your card number and pin. The number is on the rear of your Card; to get the pin number go to or get in touch with your local Eataly store and submit your card number.

I've got a voucher with a 16 digit code, how can I use it?

If you have received a voucher with a 16 digit code you can convert it into a Prepaid Card on the Prepaid Cards page.

Once you have completed the activation process you'll receive an e-mail containing your Card Number and pin that you can use for your online purchases. If you prefer, you can print your voucher and consign it to the Info Box of any Eataly store to receive a physical card in exchange.

Virtual and physical cards can be used in the stores to pay for your purchases, to eat in the restaurants and/or to sign up for dinners and courses. Prepaid Cards can also be used on the Internet to shop at the Eataly Online Store and to purchase courses and/or events.

Where can I buy the Eataly Prepaid Card?

You can purchase the Eataly Prepaid Card at any Eataly store.

Online Gift Card

Can I make a gift of a voucher for online purchases from the Eataly site?

No problem, just purchase an Online Gift Card.
You can purchase Online Gift Cards exclusively from the Eataly Online Store. The cards are available with four different values: 50 €, 100 €, 200 €, and 500 € and they can be used only to shop at the Eataly Online Store.
Online Gift Cards are electronic payment instruments consisting simply of a code that will be sent to the email address you specify at the time of purchase.

How can I use my Online Gift Card to shop at the Online Store?

Just select 'Use an Online Gift Card' in payment type, enter your Online Gift Card code and then press the 'Add Gift Card' button.

If the total amount of your order is higher than the value of your Online Gift Card you can add the difference using another payment method chosen from among the available options. If the order total is lower than the remaining credit on your Online Gift Card the remaining credit can be used to make further orders before the expiry date of the card.

After the first use the code of your Online Gift Card will be stored in your account in the ‘Gift Card’ section, where you will be able to view the remaining credit, check the expiry date, print the ‘Online Gift Card’ or email it to a friend.

How can I check the remaining credit on my Online Gift Card?

To check the remaining credit on your Online Gift Card open your account and enter the Gift Card section then click on 'View' and check the expiry date of your code.

If you have yet to use your 'Online Gift Card' and you wish to check the credit amount or expiry date, open your account, go to the Online Gift Card section and click on 'Add/Convert a Gift Card’.

Discount Code

I've received a Discount Code, how can I use it to make online purchases?

Once you've put the products you require in your shopping bag proceed with the purchase. Enter and confirm the shipping and payment data; when you reach the ‘Confirm Data’ section enter your Discount Code in the box 'Do you have a Discount Code? Enter the code and apply the discount’ then click ‘Apply’: the value of your discount will be automatically subtracted from the total amount of your order.

To complete the order click on 'Confirm order'.

Can I make a gift of an event?

When you purchase an event on the site you will receive a confirmation email with the voucher providing admittance to the event or course.
You can make a gift of this voucher to allow a person of your choosing to attend the event.

In this case please contact the Events and Didactic Office of the Eataly store in which the event or course will be held, to inform the organisers that the participant will be different from the person who made the purchase. You'll find all the necessary information in the Contacts area of the site.
