This is the Scarampola Brewery's interpretation of the classic English Indian Pale Ales, rechristened Italian Pale Ale and brewed with the addition of grapefruit.

The outcome is a pale amber beer with coppery tints and aromas of citrus and hops. Well balanced in the mouth, pleasurably fresh and easy to drink despite its robust alcohol content. Alcohol 7.5% vol.

Try it in the company of spicy or meaty dishes, if you want to fully appreciate its freshness and aromaticity.

Manufacturer History

A brewery founded on the border between Piedmont and Liguria, in the small medieval town of Cairo Montenotte, in Palazzo Scarampi (hence the name Scarampola). It has since moved to inside the ex-Monastery of Santo Stefano in Millesimo, Province of Savona, a fascinating site drenched in history. Linked with this history and the area's characteristics, the Scarampola Brewery uses Savona 'chinotto' bitter oranges (selected for support by Slow Food) and chestnuts from the area, processed in the traditional way.
