Distilled from selected Nebbiolo grape marc, this superb Montanaro grappa is matured in Slovenian wooden barrels.

This procedure endows it with a distinctive amber hue and a very special aroma which over time becomes more and more mellow. Alcohol 42% vol.

Its elegant wooden box makes this magnificent drink a truly impressive gift. A golden liquid which deserves to be savoured on its own, but also works wonders with quality chocolate.

Manufacturer History

Eataly has chosen Montanaro because this distillery in the centre of Piedmont's Barolo territory has remained identical since 1885, when Francesco Trussoni, alchemist and master of the stills, created the first Barolo grappa. Its original large and small oak barrels and elaborate copper alembic stills are still standing and working today. In 1922 the company was taken over by Mario Montanaro, a perfecter of distilling processes and an heir to Trussoni's rigorous methodology, which has always remained the foundation of the unique ecosystem where Montanaro spirits are distilled. Today the company is run by Giulio Bongiovanni who every day masterfully reproposes the values of the craft grappa Montanaro has always produced. Now as then, the result is a simply extraordinary spirit.
